Re: Ian Thal's "The Marmalope"
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 1:38 PMWell, that was quite fun. I'm envious of something, either material small enough for for the venue's stage, mime-friendly venues, or your willingness to go where mime-friendliness isn't expected. I start arguing with myself and presuming what the audience will presume about mimes (too bad the MC kinda played into that stereotype). Of course, this is in defiance of all my own training as Tony Montanaro wouldn't've hesitated at all, but taken that stage without hesitation.
Lovely piece.

Re: Ian Thal's "The Marmalope"
Mon, June 30, 2008 - 2:54 PMThank you so much!
Believe me, I have a really hard time finding venues for mime-- and this was my first nightclub gig in years. I just happened to find a casting call for a vaudeville show and took a chance. At least I made a few friends, and who knows? I'm on YouTube now.
(speaking of which, did your YouTube videos get you any attention?)
The MC actually did have a few good bits, even if he played into the negative stereotype briefly-- but that was to deflate the stereotype.

Mon, June 30, 2008 - 1:44 PMIGNORE THIS ONE. I was lead to believe that Explorer couldn't communicate with the site (big liar) and reposted. -
